Excellence Framework for Child Safe Organisations – Moving from Compliance to a Pursuit of Excellence (Interactive Workshop)

When the Community Services Industry Alliance (CSIA) Laying Foundations for Industry Report was released, it identified a need to focus on excellence through industry development strategies. Around the same time the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse released its recommendations. These included a series of child safe standards that child and family focused organisations would need to comply with into the future.

From this, Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) and the CSIA partnered to support the development of an Industry-led Excellence Framework for Child Safe Organisations.

The Excellence Framework for Child Safe Organisations consists of:
• The call to action – acknowledging and learning from the past that brought about the need for the standards
• The Excellence Aspirations – five aspirations that guide cultural shifts across the sector in order to be child safe
• The process – a set of practical tools to facilitate organisations’ engagement in a pursuit of excellence in being child safe.

This framework was developed in collaboration with the child and family sector using collective learnings, knowledge and passion for working together to bring about change. It supports organisations to step towards the standards while continuing to deliver life changing services.

The Excellence Framework for Child Safe Organisations Interactive Workshop will familiarise participants with the Excellence Framework and the suite of tools. Participants will walk away with a copy of the full resource package and the ability to apply the Excellence Framework in their organisations.
